Hi,
I just spent a few days in Las Vegas and wanted to
share some information with you all. I stayed at the Venetian (some pics
attached). Loved the rooms, they are all suites, so very spacious. I did miss
the coffee pot in the room, that would be my only complaint. The hotel is so
large, I am sure I only experienced a small portion of it. I spent most of my
time at the pool (the weather was perfect about 87 both days) and of course,
spent time in the casino (no, I did not win).
Now, I have not been down to the strip in several
years, and it is just amazing to see all the new hotels, Palazzo next door and
then next to that is the Wynn. Down the strip was the Aria and Cosmopolitan,
those were not there the last time I was on the strip. I did go into the Mirage
and Treasure Island, which were both newer hotels the last time I was there, and
they did feel "dated" now. I guess Treasure Island sold and they want to start
calling it TI, that was what their sign says now. They do not have the pirate
show out front anymore. The Mirage still does their "volcano show".
The cost of food and drinks was more than I expected.
One drink by the pool was 15.00. I am not much of a drinker, so I only had the
one. I did try to hit the "happy hours" as they offered 1/2 off appetizers and
drink specials. I am amazed at how many people are there at all times! There
were lot's of different conventions going on and just so many people everywhere.
We did see the new monorail that goes from MGM to Ballys, Ceasars, Harrahs and
then over to the Convention Center and LVH. They have a website for more
information: lvmonorail.com. I am not into seeing shows, so I cannot report on
that, I did get a really discounted offer to see whatever show I wanted, if I
did the "timeshare drill", but I declined.
Lastly, I got to have dinner with Tracy and her
husband. She said to say hi to everyone, she is doing much better these days
:).
