New York, New York Dec 2011 by Judy Takemoto

Went to New York in spite of getting a surprise attack of shingles 2 days before.  Taking antiviral medication prescribed
by the doctor.  She told me to go and have fun.  She had no idea what was on the schedule!!

Dec.02  - Jetblue night flight from Oakland to JFK (arrive 7:30 am on Dec.03)
Dec.03 – Breakfast at Pigalle, Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Sak’s Fifth Avenue windows
Dec.03 – On A Clear Day    2:00 pm (Harry Connick Jr)
Dec.03 – War Horse    8:00 pm  (not real horses on stage, amazing puppetry)
Dec.04 – Yotel Hotel (570 10th Ave./W. 42nd St.) – site the hotel-very modern/space age
Dec.04 – Ellen’s Stardust Diner    11:00 am (singing waiters/waitresses)
Dec.04 – The Ride    1:00 pm  (75-minute bus ride around Times Square with performers on certain street corners)
Dec.04 – Hugh Jackman    3:00 pm
Dec.04 – Book of Mormon    7:00 pm
Dec.05 – St.Patrick’s Cathedral – 7:30 am mass
Dec.05 – Bergdorf Goodman windows and The Plaza
Dec.05 – World Trade Center    10:00 am (free but must make advance reservation for assigned time)
Dec.05 – Wall Street/Zucotti Park (occupy Wall Street protestors) / Macy’s windows
Dec.05 – Public Library    2:00 pm tour
Dec.05 – Marea    5:30 pm
Dec.05 – Million Dollar Quartet   8:00 pm (jam session w/Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins & Johnny Cash)
Dec.06 – Rockettes    11:00 am  (better than before!)
Dec.06 – The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor    1:15 pm
Dec.06 – Alfredo’s (original fettuccine Alfredo)
Dec.06 – Spiderman    7:30 pm
Dec.07 – The MET to see their tree
Dec.07 – Barneys – Lady Gaga, 5th Floor (660 Madison Ave./5th Ave.)
Dec.07 – Carnegie Deli
Dec.07 – Carnegie Hall Tour   2:00 pm
Dec.07 – Jetblue flight JFK to Oakland  6:30 pm-10:16 pm

I might even have missed mentioning a few things.
If shingles requires rest and relaxation, that didn’t happen!
